Drew Bird
Drew Bird, Ph.D., is currently senior lecturer on the MA Dramatherapy. In January 2023 he will be appointed as associate professor and lead for the Dramatherapy programme at the University of Melbourne. He is editor of the British Association of Dramatherapists Dramatherapy Journal. He is currently co-editing a book on Dramatherapy and spirituality.
His background is in working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and adult mental health. He is the author of 14 publications in various international books, articles and editorials. Recent research interests and publications have focussed on heuristic inquiry, arts-based research, a/r/tography and dramatic improvisation and performance as research into therapy and teaching practice. He presents at conferences internationally.
